i have signed up for a 1/2 marathon. that's right... i said it, A 1/2 MARATHON. i can barely run a mile so it should be interesting. so OBVIOUSLY, i want some new running gear to sport. i am obsessed with lululemon's athletic clothes (see some pics above). and although i do not think they are the cutest shoes in the world, i should probably invest in a pair of asics too. stay tuned for updates on my attempt to finish 13.1 miles.
i just stumbled upon this lovely little treasure. a documentary film about four babies growing up in four different parts of the world. opens in april. so ADORABLE.
most people hated jessica's silver number and ashton's crooked bow tie, but i LOVED them both. i also enjoyed taylor's dress made by the FABULOUS jenny packham. jenny's spring/summer 2010 dresses make me melt. check them out. (photos via)
such a FUN and fantastic wedding. i love the bright colors, the bride's adorable hair piece, and the cute little knick knacks on the cupcakes. (via once wed)
i have spent most of my LAST winter break EVER in a cubical. it is about as thrilling as it sounds. 50% of my time here is spent wondering if it is lunch time yet and 45% wondering if i curled up under my desk and took a nap, would anyone notice?
i have posted about sophie blackall before but this video about her amazing illustrations and the world of missed connections is worth another look. so awesome. check out her blog.
one of my favorite movies of last year was 500 days of summer. i was thrilled when it FINALLY came out on dvd. it is an adorable story about a boy named tom and a girl named summer played by zooey deschanel and joseph gordon-levitt. the clothes are as fantastic as the plot itself and add to the charming personalities of the characters. the film's costume designer, hope hanafin, says that the color blue was the biggest influence to summer's wardrobe because of her sparkling blue eyes and magnetic charm.
hope hanafin was interviewed by hollywood crush about summer's enchanting wardrobe. she says, "A lot of it is vintage, but there’s still plenty that’s not. Though I have great respect for these romantic comedies where secretaries are wearing Prada, I wanted [“500 Days”] to be kind of the anti-“Sex and the City.” So, Zooey’s wearing clothes that her character really could afford, things are also repeated. Her clothes are a mix of things from [places like] Old Navy, GAP, BCBG and then there’s a lot of vintage. But not all of it was glamorous vintage. She has a Built By Wendy denim skirt and a couple other great things".
